Glencore announced, as expected, end of mine ahead for Mt Isa.

They still have other mines in the region + JVs & partnerships with a few smaller companies.
(mainly in exploration I think + Glencore own more exploration ground too.. I think. They certainly own other mines and area and interests)
MIM held extensive exploration ground portfolio. Explored widely in the region in 100kms radius from Mt Isa. A bit superficially at times shown by discoveries former MIM exploration areas, in recent times , with modern geophysics & geology interpretation assisting too.

I get your meaning- the processing facilities and smelter will continue at Mt Isa ongoing.
No doubt state government support will be angled for—to keep it going past 2030.

And the Qld state government will support exploration and encourage more mining development, and sustaining the regions and copper & base + gold mining which is so important for the local , regional, & state governments.
