Good question MC. I believe he may well have set his sights on Roxgold's prized Youanmi gold project. And as VMC are their biggest shareholder, getting control of VMC, together with his existing shareholding in RXL picked up from the recent in-specie distribution, gives him a great launching pad.
His private investment vehicle, QGold, have a history of taking over advanced gold developers, rather than sitting as passive investors. Their recent assaults on Carrawine Gold and Strategic Minerals attest to this.
Either way his increased presence on the VMC share register is an exciting development and could be the catalyst we are seeking.
