Good to see the Gina as a messiah phase is mostly over:
I suspect Gina’s plan has a few steps:
1. Buy a blocking stake at below ALBs offer price. Tick
2. Downramp LTR to keep the SP low. Tick
3. Get a seat on the board, and access to the inside knowledge that provides.
4. See off the ALB bid.
5. Mount a full takeover at not much more than ALB offerred, early-mid next year while in final stages of construction.
If Gina runs into trouble, plan B is to flip the shares for a good profit. Plan C might be to stay on a major shareholder, but Gina likes to run things her way, not sure she would settle for anything less than control. And I’m still not totally ruling out that she might come to an arrangement with ALB for a joint venture, including downstream processing.
