I am not sure if A2M will announce a share buyback now ? Last year they announced this in conjunction with the annual financial reporting and now claim (as they have previously done) that these funds are earmarked for future M&A's .... whether this materialises is another thing but they obviously have plans of some sort ?
I still think Abbott might be looking at A2M ..... why ?
1. A2M have $750 million in the bank
2. A2M have circa a 20% Shareholding in Synlait who is now producing their new product
3. Abbott's IF withdrawal from China must be hurting profits
4. A2M's increased footprint in China
5. A2M's increased USA footprint now including IF so it would be easy for Abbott to lobby FDA for permanent approval if they takeover A2M
There are a few more reasons but I believe these would be the main ones
