The scenario was:
A demonstrably lying false report (alleged irregularities in the balance sheet) by the American hedge fund 'Muddy Waters' shortly after the start of trading combined with a large amount of short selling shares.
The share price fell by over 15% within minutes.
This triggered the many stop losses.
The share price fell a further 18%.
At this point I should have bought, but at that time I was too inexperienced and also too fearful ("never reach into a falling knife bla bla").
Instead, I sold in panic at -20%, still booking a small profit, but was out altogether!
At the end of trading, the share closed at -5% and many small shareholders were out, 'Muddy Waters' had bought back 75% of theit shorts and a few large shareholders had full pockets...
