Woodside Energy Group
WDS is in discussions to buy liquefied natural gas from US export terminal projects, Bloomberg News reported Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter.
One of the sources said the Australian petroleum exploration and production company is looking to expand its LNG portfolio and is interested in acquiring potential equity stakes in US projects including Energy Transfer's Lake Charles project in Louisiana.
The Lake Charles project is yet to begin construction and is impacted by US President Joe Biden's administration's pause on new LNG export approvals.
Woodside told MT Newswires it does not comment on market rumors.
