To say I dont comprehend in my comment before , I certainly understand why the pain disappeared (once he had moved the nerve, cleared the barnacles, and shaved down the disc).. and you would understand having put up with your discomfort for the 20 odd yrs before finally having seen the specialist, ... it is just quite amazing to suddenly have the change from having a debilitating condition to being "normal" again after ,.in my case, 10 weeks
