(Sorry its a long post. Many people complain that I write a lot and they skip. I usually don't write often so when I write I try to put all my thoughts, and also feel that if it matters, people will read it whether its small or long. I don't know which camp you are, but if you don't like long posts, please ignore this post).
.
Its good to see you here, and in an active mode. Many times people who do this type of thing (finance backing), are usually in the background. So for you to come out in the open and express your feelings is commendable.
I am no Uranium expert. But I have followed it for over 3 years now. I may be the only guy who used to write Daily and now most weekly Reports on Uranium sector and stocks for close to 3 years. I follow price action, usually I am not weak on fundamentals, I have very good understanding, but for me price action is more important than fundamentals (to be in or out decision). Reason I say that I have seen in Lithium sector, within a day a 7 billion stock becoming a 3.5 billion stock, no fundamental change. And there are many examples. So I follow price action. If that is good I will stay. If that is not good, I will not try to reason why that is, I will exit and wait for a better price action. The reason I am mentioning is that you may have realised, your play is different - mainly on fundamentals, to certain extent, ignore noise of price action. I might be the opposite. So how can two people with different thinking land at same play?
.
Regarding your involvement into the stock - just being frank, don't take it otherwise, I have few things in my mind for which I don't have answer - and i think about it. First, you are in food processing industry, why you getting into Uranium - personal reason, business acumen, or a close association with Jono? Second, what is your exit strategy - you may have got in cheaper, price rises up, you suddenly exit, because you may have made some million dollars which might be enough for you or may have met your objective of making certain gain. Many others joining here, thinking because of your strength/involvement, may feel let down. Thirdly, U sector "may" go back, into a downtrend. Why would you hold?
.
Overall, just my feel, I could be wrong, is that in U sector we are in another consolidation phase in this sector. First rise was in September. I took around 40/50% gains and got out as I felt price action was not going to be good. Next was early January, again I made 40/50% gain and got out. Many were calling that we are going to the moon. If you read my reports, I was saying we will go into consolidation phase and do back test of some numbers. I am no expert, but somehow it has played out that way. I use Cameco (CCJ) as a barometer. After September rise, I was expecting 15% drop in CCJ price to get towards bottom. Again somehow it played out that way. This time I am expecting 20/25% drop - at least - before bottom of this leg is reached, so somewhere around 40/42. It reached 41 recently, so around the mark now. I think we may see a turn after this phase happens. Just by what I am writing, you can sense I may be a short-term player who follows price action, not your genre maybe. But that changes if price action is good. I know for sure that most gains are made by holding for long, so I have the temperament and I have 20/25 bags with some stocks few years back, all I have written at that time as well.
.
So why am I writing here and what is my play? Usually I play a lot of stocks, just to share the risk. But one or two stocks, I take a punt, including risks. Couple of Lithium stocks and in Uranium CXU is the punt game I have gone with. I have exited, at this stage, most Uranium stocks. But have held CXU. You may think why? First, as I said, sometimes I go with gut feeling, it does not always work, but that's me. Secondly, I do a lot of data churn, look at trading patterns, price action, etc. CXU fits into a category on all those that I feel I can take a risk. On all my threads where I write, I always write when I buy, with price, when I sell, with price, not later, but that day or week depending on whether writing daily or weekly. Very few on hot copper do that, but if you read any on my thread, I always write my holding price, I always write when I buy, when I sell. I hold a lot of other stocks though that I don't write, mainly because my holding is not very big, or I am doing a very short term play and may exit anytime. At this stage, in my reading, if U sector is on an uptrend, CXU may make a very big gain - that is why I am here.
.
So fundamentally we know what is key for CXU. Jono to continue doing the job and create a formidable resource. Second, U sector has to be at least neutral, if not positive, for most U stocks to make a gain. That is a very over powering factor in the sector, and if that is not there, then there is a good chance most U stocks will struggle, including CXU. From a price perspective, as I have said I follow price action, I would like to see 4.5 hold, which it has. For upside, key is to get over 5.8.
.
Personally, now CXU is my biggest U sector holding. Last time I wrote my buy was 5, its now 4.9, oppies was 3, now 2.9 - so technically same from before, I am writing it because its my habit. I like to trade, usually trade around 30% of my holding. Love to buy and sell, keeps me busy, occupied, and sometimes earns me so pocket money where I can think a sell may happen or buy may happen - materially not important but I love the challenge.
.
You don't have to write anything I asked. It will not be inappropriate and I will understand without feeling let down or anything. I was reading for sometime your posts, I got into CXU, there were a few things in my mind, I though Friday arvo is the best time to pen it down. I wish you well. I mean it. You have taken a stand very few people will. I sincerely wish something good comes out of it. I am very open - I write what I do and I write what I may do. Hope things turn out good - for you, and me. Enjoy your weekend and all the best.
