Interesting to speculate on whether Duncan Seville wants to make a takeover, and of what. At current market caps, with no takeover premium, it would cost him $142m to buy out the 35% minority of RMC but only $42m to buy out the 77% minority in MME. The recent substantial shareholder notice showing their increase in MME to 23% includes the holdings of all of Somers’ “associates” as defined under the Corporations Act. That includes the interests in MME held by Thorn and Resimac.
