Wouldn't be working in with the shorters now would they?? Whenever you see Van Eck, State Street, etc. start to change their positions (up and down) it is usually bad news for the stock. We will also be seeing retail investors crystallising losses before June 30 which is also putting downward pressure on Goldies I suspect - and for all the talk about rare metals and base metals being urgently needed to support the 'renewables revolution' we are certainly not seeing the same conviction from the market as metals prices fall again, and with the US too busy trying to 'prop up' the USD and being absolutely petrified of the consequences on the dollar if they reduce interest rates. With the US election not far away, Biden will do anything to give the impression that the US economy is hunky-dorey, so fully expect more reports from the Fed of jobs rising and inflation stabilising (even if it's not the case!) - just IMO folks.
