Lynas was and still is the best rare earths business outside of China. Yes the profitability is and will remain an issue for foreseeable future. The intellectual property, industry know how, trained workforce, favourable position with USG, access to cheap pools of capital --> These are all value drivers that makes Lynas a great asset to own if likes of Gina wants to position themselves for another decade of dominance. She is smart enough to know that and is scooping up as many shares as she can.

Once she had her fill - there are two things she will do to monetize

a) Consolidate or otherwise find ways to integrate various companies that she will control (Lynas, Brazil rare earths, Arafura)
b) Lobby the governments to make policy changes that will allow price bifurcation / or floor prices to incentivise project development
