At the moment coking coal prices futures index is falling daily. This index measures top grade coal. Buyers in the steel industry are swinging more to somewhat lower grades which cost less,as steel prices are weakening (Platts), so the decline there should be less ,if any. Also, thermal coal prices have been rising while top grade coking has been falling. In addition, dry bulk rates on the Baltic shipping exchange have fallen considerably and are trending down, which should reduce demurrage charging rates, It might be reasonable to expect a slightly lower $A too, somewhat marginally increasing returns.
