Then you qualify it. The suggestion is that you know he has sold out. Given the volumes it was a reasonable assumption but factually incorrect. You could have stated that he had clearly sold some...
You could have resolved that question by speaking to the - well obviously the CEO GC. However you went with it.
I don't measure each parcel of stock. So yes if you match the parcel GC1 purchased they would have lost on it - however accountants would have said First in First out and GC1 would have made money on it.
The implication is always how clever you are or the fan club of SEQ is or maybe SEQ is - yet no-one wants to answer the fact that you can compare this stock against CAF, WTL , FID and over many years the charts say that SEQ has not performed. You can take the slice that management used in its presentation and it looks better but over the standard Commsec charts 1 , 3, 5 years and on some 10 years this isn't better.
This company has had 2 section 249d requests in 5 years. Its had a lot of directors come and go. It does not present as something I would hold.
What is even more interesting is that so many voted for present management but not many are buying stock. The real issue is that if this was such a steal then GC1 would not have sold at a loss. Why are you cheering the fact that he lost - you all lost? You are still losing and the current share buyback wont hold out if they keep selling - nor by my calculations will the cash pile.
What I cannot understand is if so many shareholders are so committed why then such a huge lack of support. Maybe there is a gap here - voters in record numbers but no-one wants to carry on that conviction by buying what must be now cheap shares - where's the gap I don't understand it?
Add to that that Morrison's that stands in the books of SEQ at $10 million for 20% only delivered $154K as I see it. The new purchasers have had it taken away by the company that provided some of the finance. The offers were not good enough so they have acquired the 80%. What is a minority interest 0f 20% worth? In my books very little.
Maybe the biggest thing to note is that the August report of GC1 showed its performance climbed 2% against a benchmark that declined by 2% and that was despite the SEQ negative performance.
