Some might find this interesting - I was reading a Macquarie lending agreement for a different stock and it actually had a clause that they could return cash instead of stock (from memory based off vwap) - seemed like a great clause to prevent them getting squeezed. Not sure if thats common but it provides a way for them to close out their short without raising the price.
