Possibly but a very risky tactic. That would only lower their portfolio investment value. More likely the high volume is day trading churn. When Platinum started selling the day traders had to get out as upward momentum ceased and turned negative because of the sizeable selling by Platinum. They then got out at whatever price they could to limit their day trading losses.
