I think tgat a few have looked at it. In discussions it has always been made clear to me that each of these companies has grown its offering from a different base so it is possible to get it and put it into a far bigger operation but mergers at this level are hard. The argument against the larger companies acwuiring these are that they dont move the dial and that the customers are often loyal to the people and they often dont stick and then the clients dont stick as well. This is why I sold in the MGP days after a good run - I had asked a few why they didnt get taken out and everyone said there wasn't a good fit.
My issue is that I am surprised that they wrote off the software - I would have thought they needed it to compete with Hub , One vue etc. What I could not see was an explanation of why it was written off. Maybe its the new broom making his performance base easier but without that explanation you dont know what is gping on the write off is 50% of its market cap...
I have long thought that if OVH was at its old price around 80c it would have made a few consolidation acquisitions so that they could establish a great base but they went and bought DVA which they have now sold. So it looks like no-one really knows what the optimum structure is. I am very close to avoiding this sector for the next 18 months until you can pick a few winners. From a recent discussion and the Asic moves I reckon its going to be a lot harder and more expensive to get insurance in this sector as well. Compliance is becoming a huge issue , not only here but the USA as well. I havent decided an investment strategy so maybe its in the too hard basket and I will just keep watching.
