July 19th 2018 -Kibo Mining welcomes progress towards a mining licence at Mbeya
"Kibo Mining PLC (LON:KIBO) told investors that the Tanzanian Mining Commission is now ready to consider an application for a special mining licence (SML) for the Mbeya Coal to Power Project (MCPP). It comes as there’s new clarity over certain aspects of the process, namely the need for a local content plan and an integrity pledge into the application, the former sets out how the project will prioritise domestic procurement, while the second is a formal commitment to ethical practices set out by the Tanzanian authorities."

June 2017 -Kibo exempt as Tanzania turns spotlight on mineral export graft
"Louis Coetzee, CEO of Kibo, said in an announcement today that meetings with Tanzania’s Ministry of Energy and Minerals (MEM) between 12 to 13 June found that “… the company’s operations are not affected by the current debate on mining policies and the Mining Act”. A special mining licence for the Mbeya coal mine – another outstanding permit – had also been processed and was waiting for final approval pending the certification of the environmental assessment. Coetzee said there was now a clear pathway agreed with the government to have this paperwork completed."
