Lets hope not, keep slavery a thing of the past. Labour issues are across all Australian industries at the moment not just agriculture. As far as I can see the Australian mining sector is the worst hit.

Moreover, farmers in general really need to utilise more automation moving forward instead of relying on cheap backpackers from here on out. There are plenty of new tech out there that can be adopted that takes the costly manual labour out of the equation. The Hadrian X technology for example (the world's first fully automated end to end robotic bricklayer) can be reconfigured to pick fruit if push comes to shove. Exciting times ahead, from the simple hand tools, to beasts of burden, humble tractors to the combine harvester... humans being have gone leaps in bounds from our humble farming practices 10,000 years ago. Necessity is the mother is the mother of inventions.

Back to CGC, If you care to look at the 1HCY21 dated 26 August 2021. The beauty of CGC is that 24.39% of our Revenue (to the tune of $149.4m out of $612.4m for the half) is not affected by this uniquely Australian labour issue. CGC is poised to weather this issue thanks to its International segment which is growing strongly. Much better than agricultural operation that gets 100% of their revenue in Australia.
