I remember a "legendary" OTA done in the good old days (that would be 2022) between Livent (now merged with Allkem creating Arcadium) where GM prepaid US$192M to Livent to guarantee lithium supply

This was a prepay for a 6 year supply deal and as noted in the article
"Prepaying cash for a guaranteed metal supply is unusual in the mining industry"
but it does happen
Now from accounting PoV ... its not revenue that can be recognized (as it has not been shipped) but it is cash that can be spent!!!
I want those days back!
