I'd be pretty confident in saying it's just window dressing. If I was getting a big fat wage from a company and spending a small percentage of it would do anything positive for that company I'd do it too, even if I thought those shares would become worth nothing before I sold them.
I've commented on the Reliance deal before, to the extent that I'm able to here. I don't believe there is any hope of it turning a profit for them directly, but there are indirect benefits for both them and AEB.
This company is a clear, open book to anyone able to read between the lines. I wouldn't touch it as a long term strategy, but there may be short term trading opportunities for people who really know what they're doing and have an appetite for risk.
I'd recommend anyone thinking about investing in AEB to look back over their history of unrealistic claims, broken promises and failures over the last few years, plus the histories of previous companies managed by the same people, who became rich while investors lost everything.
