1)yes things that go wrong should be announced immediately. If not the share price corrects more later
2)Unfortunately "shortly" is not a good word.
3)however a particular date might not be helpful. For example if they say there will be an announcement 19 May, and there is a bad weather event or collapse or something on 15 May which shuts it down for 4 days, then the numbers will be down and the market will see the results do not meet what they hoped and it gets wallopped on the 19 May.
