Thank you for your thoughtful and respectful reply - it is refreshing not to have my head bitten off for holding a contrarian view on Zip
    - I understand and accept that most Zip shareholders will choose to ignore what I am saying. As human beings we are all (myself included) generally not good at properly considering views opposed to our own.

My main argument is that the actual EBTDA is much more important than the 'Cash EBTDA':
    - Zip US actual EBTDA was ~$39m and not the $68.3m presented (Cash EBTDA).
    - This is because the additional $29m of bad debts are an actual expense (refer to my prior post).
    - I can't think of any other lending companies (I've looked at a hell of a lot of them) that pretend this expense doesn't count, it's just ridiculous.
    - While it is possible that the provisions could be written back in future periods, practically this very rarely happens (otherwise they wouldn't have made them in the first place).

    - Touting the 79.9% growth of 'US cash EBTDA' and margin expansion to 22.4% is misleading for Zip investors who are encouraged by the US growth, because the true growth in profitability is much lower than this (i.e. minimal). Therefore, the 'operating leverage' is not real in 2025 H1.

Bad debts are ~25% of revenue (you used a 1% expense relative to revenue in your example). Therefore, a large change in bad debts can impact profitability significantly.

We may have to agree to disagree on this issue.

(additional post to come regarding the comparison with Affirm)
