Somebody can't do maths - out by a factor of 10 ... things must be very tight for MF if he has to sell $8,675 of shares to meet a margin call .. would have been much better off on many fronts to simply put this on his credit card a) lower cost of money (assuming shares will go up in a year) and b) spooking the market by selling shares
