I'd suggest that Macgeorge's largest single asset is/was his shareholding in SRG. If this property/tax thing had to be settled then it's not unreasonable for him to fund it, in part or in full, from his largest asset. We don't know if he sold any other assets. This is the CEO of a small cap ASX co, not a guy worth tens of millions of dollars.
Insider sales only matter when they are an indicator of declining business performance. But, imo, they are more a confirmation of other red flags, rather than being a red flag in and of themselves. Are there any other red flags? None that I can see.
The market, especially this market, loves jumping at shadows.
