My gripe has been for sometime, that I wish he would focus on fixing KMD much more, he is the Chair there & seems to have been relatively indifferent to overseeing management performance. Just letting Kathmandu continue ‘business as usual’ whilst significant competition from MacPac and others. All far better managed and run. Plus debarcles and major controversies that acutely angered shareholders, caused notable backlash in the US and elsewhere, with idealistic not best management RipCurl —which is the main asset KMD. ( + their production chain and products I guess. )
David Kirk could end up being a Judas there , his significant focus on everything else inc here excellently.
I always get angry when I read a KMD annual report with all its lovely language and obfuscating, but not truly ensuring to fix things and focus optimally forward though very good brands & reputation inc globally. RipCurl also not doing anything like as well as should or comparing to past performance. (NZ recent recession besides for KMD.)
