It's standard practice for US 'start ups' to issue selected staff equity as part of their pay, and they sell a portion to pay federal and state taxes in the US. Just like we pay tax here in Aus on what we salary sac rifice. When RSU's are converted to ordinary shares in the US, it attracts incone tax the moment it is converted. There is a lot of misplaced unnecessary panic on this thread. Sean and Tony V are actually net equity accumulators and now hold enough to be top 50 holders.
