You do not know why he sold and whether or not he needs the proceeds soon. Therefore you cannot know whether he could have sold slowly and if not doing so was selfish.
We cannot expect the price of any company's share to continously increase in a straight line with never-ending momentum. Share prices go up and down in seemingly random patterns. That is the nature of the market.
