Management backing them selves in a crunch point here is certainly an interesting move. With the recent developments in competitive lung-imaging companies threatening the business as a whole, management digging in to get behind their investors is certainly commendable. Hopefully not a publicity stunt.
It will be interesting to see how CYC can position themselves against 4DX which is now emerging with new contracts and lung imaging technology that will eat into CYC's business. CYC has sometime before they materially get on to market with a few options.
Embed themselves so deeply that hospitals/providers are tied up with the product.
Pivot the product away from 4DX developments and explore other indications.
Improve their offering significantly.

Point 3 has to be prima-facing; CYC is dealing with a competitor that is non-invasive and potentially* more accurate. We have seen this narrative before in medicine with keyhole surgery procedures as a minimally invasive alternative to traditional procedures supported by medtech developments for more precise care.
