Posco, that are doing JLL's test work, are already working with General Motors to produce cathode active materials, so that too is a possibility in future. GM working with Samsung to produce batteries and Posco for CAMs.
The article below is a year old, but it does give some idea how big the market is and the **** load of lithium that will be required to produce that many batteries for vehicles.
