I've read a number of studies that set out to determine if USA publicly traded companies demonstrate a negative relationship between Director sales and subsequent SP price. The studies concluded that whilst it's a commonly held anecdotal belief that Director sales negatively impact SP, no statistically significant relationship exists between Director sales and subsequent SP price, as measured over variable lengths of time,

ie) the studies have shown Director sales do not cause a statistically significant decrease in SP.

There's always going to be outlier companies but by and large (for US traded companies at least) Director sales don't tank the SP.

Just thought the results of such studies were interesting (and I really hope applicable to Aus companies in Cuba...) to challenge a common anecdotally held belief; this is not financial advice.

Here's one such study, I haven't read through it thoroughly yet as to verify quality as I've been staring at a screen all day but there are other studies focused on this subject that can easily be found with a lit search.
