Its quite amazing the numbers of posters who are still fixated on buying LICs at a large discount to NTA, rather than buying the expertise of the manager. You have picked to a T one of my (and JB’s) abject failure in ALF. You are quite correct, buying cheap is NOT a recipe for profit. I guess you only have to look at CSL as an example of the opposite !
