Ideally, Directors should have an amount in shares equal to a year's fees within say three years of their appointment. This helps to ensure their financial objectives are aligned with the relevant listed entity.

Ms Anderson has a number of fingers in various pies, some of which are for-profit organisations and others non-profits.

My expectation is that a Director for a company such as GNC who's also involved with subcommittees such as remuneration has sufficient time to thoroughly understand the company as a whole and particularly those areas where the Board and Director perceive that he or she can add value.

In the wider coastal urban communities where 85 per cent of Australians reside, GNC's vital role as a handler would be very poorly understood. Some consumers who shop at WOW/COL/MTS' IGAs wouldn't even know whether any wheat comes from Australian growers, hard as that ignorance is to comprehend.

the way i see it, and given the good harvests have at least to years to run, Ms Anderson can see that GNC are seriously undervalued.

and also can see the other irons in the fire.
