If there is imminent news coming, this might be considered insider trading. I am thinking/hoping that he only bought a very small parcel (compared to his holding), just to give market/shareholders a hint to wait and not rush to sell due to EOFY as some good news are coming very soon).
If this is not the case and this purchase was to show to the market he is supporting and believing in the company future, then this is really a very poor message/signal. He (and the company's directors) should purchase with at least $100k (not $10-15k) for their message/signal to have some effect.
