Correct. No chance on market unless they create serious value and get a MCAP above 200m - then they could leak them out over a few years or block them to interested fund managers - but the real exit is a sale or offshore listing.
There is no way they would be buying if there was material news imminent - they will have decided to just after all shareholders are fully informed eg after a shareholder update. It is true they will have a far better sense than all of us whether the overall prospects are good which is why it is encouraging that they are adding but they wouldn't do anything if there was something about to drop. Genetech is due in about 4-8 weeks by my count so probably need to get what they want now so it's not too close to that announcement.
