At least GNC gave us a reason, although to state the obvious, provided it's within a permitted date range and has the approval of the Board, CEOs and Directors have as much right to sell holdings as we do.
Irrespective, substantial divestments are often viewed negatively by 'Mr Market'.
Maybe in this case the reaction will be neutral.
