    re: Ann: Change of Director's Interest No... The risk to run with developing new drugs for ready supplied areas of medicine is that efficacy(safety aside ) over current meds needs to be assured early on or you're toast.

    As far as safety goes, there may also be less spectrum for side effect tolerance from approvers when tried and true meds exist.
