From my assessment of hundreds of announcements of director purchasing shares on market, there is a lag of 6 months before there is an increase or change in trajectory of the sp. That is of the stocks where there is ultimately a change in the sp, there are plenty of stock where director purchases do not lead to any long term change.
Just as an aside time is money, time is opportunity cost, time is uncertainty given you state the project depends on further results and success.
