That's a bit harsh - he contributed 10% of the total raised, is already the largest shareholder, and has lost a lot of money on his investment over the years. The important thing is that he took the trouble to make the contribution.
All of the directors and senior management could have done the same thing (unless there are some legal reasons I'm not aware of).
