Yeah? Nah.
A quick look at respective RBA and Fed interest rate movements shows that assertion to be complete bollocks. Obviously inflation is linked to some similar global factors (energy costs etc.) but historically they've moved at different times and by different amounts.
AU interest rates have historically been higher than US (not now) so not really any merit at all to your assertion.
