Shorting is a funny game although I don't dabble in it myself, I believe it has its place in the market. DDR for example it has low liquidity and his highly susceptible to movements of volume therefore a big game shorters dream, and DDR benefits from higher liquidity (needed for ASX 300 entry). We won't receive any out of sink good news until the end of April which the shorters are fully aware and they have the upper hand despite Vlad saying "hmm that's a bit cheap now on a couple of occasions!!". The funny thing about shorting is unlike buying a stock for capital appreciation and risking only your capital a shorter risks endless losses and may have to buy back the stock at whatever the price is. I feel they will push on for few more weeks before they throw in the towel (sooner if buying pressure is maintained)and we will re-rate to the upside especially if interim's come in at my forecast 8.5 cents or above.
Note - IAMYI holders of any stock should never support shorters as their aim is to artificially hold a stock lower by selling that which they do not own. By definition a short squeeze is always possible "a rapid increase in the price of a stock owing primarily to an excess of short selling of a stock rather than underlying fundamentals" it is our role as "long" holders to highlight the risk of a short squeeze and in effect promoting one!!
