    AfterPay is the modern day version of Layby that our wives and mothers used 5,10,15, 20years ago.

    The difference is that you get to take home or use the product immediately.
    The catch is, if you don't pay on time there is a nominal fee and restrictions on your ability to AfterPay/Layby in the future.

    The AFR article this morning is amateurish at best.
