Personally I am very comforted to see the Directors putting their hands up and buying the full allocation, particularly as the SPP price was below the market price for much of the period.
Malcolm has 32m fully paid shares and has seen his investment drop from 12c to 6c in the quarter. That equates to a loss of $2m and he hasn't blinked, even though he has tons of skin in the game and could easily explain holding off.
As Malcolm is the guy who knows more than anyone about STM's prospects, this is a big confidence boost to me as regards hanging in there through the market rout.
As they say, money talks and the MD is clearly saying now is a time to buy.
