My guess is the sp is heading south.
Indications don't look good and i would fear the half yearly if i were a holder.
Put it this way, i would short if i could but it's not available to me.
As far as writing down goodwill, it really depends on what dollars are generated to work out the amount of fair goodwill.
My guess it that they will use the half for cleansing, get the bad news out of the way then refocus. If they decide to drip feed bad news, this will likely be worse.
This has been a favourite of the likes of pattersons who i actually like for the most part, however i don't think they will push it too hard, certainly with older customers they want to keep. Not long ago when the sp was at 48c, pattersons report had a 78c target, today about 33c but no one is perfect.
Remember always cut your dogs loose, even if it's at a loss.
If you intend to keep holding, i hope I'm wrong for you.
I'll throw it out there, next stop around 25 - 27c.
