It looks like he kept the shares exercised from options and paid for it by selling the shares acquired by rights.
Though the notice doesn't mention the consideration for the sale of the 1.5mil shares acquired by rights they do not appear in the 'after' box. Assuming $1.90 sale price, a nice $2.3mil+ boost to the bank account :-).
So far, well and truly deserved......
