i agree that sericite is a good indicator. At Olympic Dam it increases towards the orebody. But we do have to remember that this orebody style is very variable, and is renowned for having large and intense associated hem and or sericite-chlorite. And it appears that you CAN get this style of alteration without ore, but of course the positive way of looking at this is that ore doesn't occur WITHOUT this type of intense alteration. Such is the nature of greenfields exploration for the shallow-style of IOCG's...
