This thread is great.
It's a perfect example of countervailing irrationalities that forms a large part of the basis for the EMH. It also highlights the perils of emotional trading, comprehension and patience.
This is not to say either party is correct or incorrect, but rather some bloke back in the day, pre interwebbles, had this down to a T. Props to him (Fama).
