Hi Jianke, I agree.

I don't think the board is so naive as to believe the insignificant purchases by the directors would influence the share price (especially in light of the fact that Mr Jones already suggested the disappointing share price is the good work of a small pool of speculators).

Hence, the purchases by the directors for the purpose of countering the manipulation would be self-defeating and counter-productive. I don't think management is that dumb and would play into the hands of the speculators (IMO whom SDL has been watching very closely).

I think it is an exercise of transparency to say..."I told you we are onto a good thing"...
