The company previously released that they expected to complete the screens for Genentech and pass the data over for their evaluation by end of October - the company hasn't yet actually released anything to say it has happened but if they were looking at an equity stake or something along those lines and already encouraged with progress then why not via the options that would ensure they paid a significant premium without it being all in your face it also means they still have the 8 months to expiry while they evaluate the candidates passed over to them.
