I haven't been able to find any legislation around this two week rule that gets fluttered about on hotcopper so I doubt it's validity unless i'm missing something.
Also as others have stated, there is a difference between them knowing something price sensitive and purchasing/selling shares prior to releasing said information in comparison to purchasing shares and the day after doing so, you get some excellent information (1000+carat diamond from XRT
) then you aren't in the wrong and don't have to wait two weeks to release this news. IMO
