With results for many companies out of the way the director interest notices are coming thick and fast. But it's not often you see a corporate executive do share sales quite like this.
After posting a notice late on Monday which showed CEO Tracey Fellows slimming her holdings from 102,218 to a mere 12 (making $911,490.06 in the process), REA the very next day posted another notice showing Fellows had been granted 16,474 REA shares. Which she got for free as a result of the "vesting of performance rights".
Our feverish imaginations had conjured up all sorts of reasons why Fellows might have sold virtually all her shares in the company, which is 62 per cent owned by News Corp. It seemed quite pointed, a CEO going from holding over 10,000 to 12, and the company didn't reveal much when saying Fellows had sold "for personal reasons at a time the market was fully informed". But after Tuesday afternoon's notice, we're sure investors are pleased to see Fellows with more skin in the game than she had before, even if she has taken money off the table.
